Rotary Engine Workshops

Two-Day Hands-On Workshop | 4–7 Students | $750 Per Person

This two-day group workshop gives rotary enthusiasts the opportunity to learn professional engine rebuilding techniques without needing to supply an engine.

Students practice on rotary engines provided by the Rotary Engine Workshop. Working in a small group of participants allows everyone to perform meaningful hands-on work instead of watching from the edge of the room.

Students will learn

Proper rotary engine disassembly

Component identification and organization

Cleaning and preparation procedures

Rotor housing and side-housing inspection

Inspection, identification and installation of all rotor seals and springs including side seal clearancing

Measurement of critical engine clearances

Rotor assembly techniques, tools, products and tricks to ensure flawless results

Practice engine assembly sequence as many times as needed to achieve smooth techniques and commit to memory the entire process. Repetition is encouraged. 

Engine assembly, torque procedures and sealing methods with products used by the best in the rotary engine industry

Common rebuilding mistakes and how to avoid them 

Included:

Two days of hands-on instruction

Workshop-provided rotary engines from multiple generations of Rx-7 & Rx-8 vehicles

Professional tools and measuring equipment

Practice components and 

Small-group instruction with maximum time to learn and practice 

Ongoing guidance concerning parts, tools, and future engine projects is available by phone anytime in the future 

Not included:

This workshop does not include rebuilding a personal engine. Students who want to rebuild their own engine at a Rotary engine workshop should contact us at the number below. One engine rebuild per rotary engine workshop event is available and requires an additional day before and after the workshop for a total of 4 days.
